Cheburaska and Crocodile Gena

I have been watching lots of Russian videos online to improve my listening skills, and this is probably one of my favorite finds. It is a 1969 stop motion adaptation of a 1966 writer named Edward Upensky. Cheburaska is still a popular children’s character now, and it come as no surprise to me that he apparently has achieved cult status in Japan.

It’s completely worth watching just for the songs and gorgeous animation.
